On July 9, 2024, the XII International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence: New Paradigms in Biomedical Informatics was held, organized by the USC-CIMUS node in collaboration with CITIC of UDC, RNASA-IMEDIR, and Ikerdata. The event aimed to establish collaborations for future R&D projects in AI and biomedicine.

Researcher Pepo Brea showcased the «cell painting» technique used for bioprofiling compounds from the EU-OPENSCREEN library, highlighting its potential to identify therapeutic candidates by analyzing cellular effects.

The workshop underscored the vital role of AI in biomedical informatics and emphasized collaboration between institutions to drive innovation and develop new research tools in biomedicine.
